Sending a Mail/Care Package

To send mail, you will need to find out where the location is being held after his stay at the holding facility. He will not be at the St. Albans City Jail long enough to receive mail. You can inquire about release information after the prisoner’s court appearance by calling 802-524-2166.

Sending Money

Similar to sending mail to an inmate, you will need to find out the prisoner’s next lodging assignment before you can set up and send money to a prisoner, as most inmates are not at this facility for long. Call 802-524-2166 to find out where a prisoner is heading and where to send him money.

Phone calls

Prisoners can usually make one free phone call during the booking process, and should use that to call an attorney or to notify a friend or family member of where they are located. Inmates cannot receive incoming phone calls, and will not be at the St. Albans City Jail long enough to establish an account for making outbound phone calls.

Visitation

You might be able to watch the scheduled court appearance of an inmate. If an inmate has been charged with a misdemeanor, his court session will be viewable by the public. If the prisoner has been booked on a felony charge, call the Franklin County Jail Information line, to find out where and when the inmate is being transferred to a different facility. You will not be able to visit him at the St. Albans St. Albans City Jail.
