Sending a Mail/Care Package
There are some things you can mail and some you can bring to the jail. You can bring prescription medication for inmates at any time as long as the medication is in the prescription bottle. You can also bring glasses, hearing aids, or other tools for the inmates’ health.
Do not send books through the mail to inmates. The Hohenwald City Jail receives some newspapers and magazines directly from the publishers that the inmates can read.
Mail sent to inmates will be opened and inspected for contraband. Plan to stick to sending letters and postcards, and do not add anything extra to the mail you send or it will be discarded without delivery to the inmate.
