This maximum security facility opened in November 1989 as a way to confine Ohio’s most disruptive male inmates. There is close custody of inmates at the Sandusky County Juvenile Detention Center, and this institution also operates the Ohio state Secure Mental Health Facility, which houses inmates on death row.

You can send letters and as many as 20 photographs up to 4” x 6” in size. Do not send Polaroid pictures or any picture that is sexual or violent in nature.
You can also send greeting cards to the Sandusky County Juvenile Detention Center as long as they are smaller than 8”x10,” and the card should be simple in design without any extra padding.
To send money, use a money order or cashier's check. You should make the cashier's check or money order payable to the inmate's name and ID number. On the check somewhere, include the Sandusky County Juvenile Detention Center, and housing unit, most likely you should put it in the memo field on the check.
