Inmate Search

By far, the easiest way to look for an inmate is to do an online search by clicking here. You can also call the Mercer County Jail to ask directly, but be prepared to provide the full legal name for an inmate as well as his date of birth. This will help facilitate an inmate search.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

While you cannot send a package, you can send mail to inmates. Remember that you must include your name and return address or the mail will be rejected.

All mail will be opened and screened by jail staff prior to delivery to an inmate. Do not attempt to send anything sexual or violent in nature, as these items will be confiscated by the Mercer County Jail staff, and the inmate could lose his mail privileges.

Sending Money

It is an easy process to send money to an inmate’s commissary account. Send money via money order, or bank/ certified check. You can send money like you would send mail, and address it to the above address to the attention of the inmate.

Phone calls

While inmates cannot receive phone calls, you can help an inmate make an outgoing phone call by adding money to their commissary account. Inmates at the Mercer County Jail can purchase prepare phone cards at the commissary, which they can use to call you. Remember that any outgoing phone call will probably be monitored and/or recorded by jail staff.

Visitation

Visits can last up to 20 minutes long, but could cut short of the Mercer County Jail staff have other duties or there are a large number of visitors that day and time. Make sure to plan to dress conservatively and do not try to bring anything to the jail that would be considered prohibited.
