While inmates at the Upstate Correctional Facility cannot receive calls, they can call you either collect or with a pre-paid account. Your phone number will need to be preapprove by the facility before an inmate can call you.
If you prefer the inmate use a prepaid card instead of calling you collect, you can put money on an inmate’s prepaid account on the New York Department of Corrections website by clicking here. T
If you do not want to set up the account for a prepaid phone online, you can also pay for a phone account by sending in a money order and using this form.
And, remember, if an inmate does not have a prepaid account set up, they can still call you collect as long as your number is preapproved and you accept the charges.
Visitation
Plan to visit on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am-3:30pm. The specific time will depend on each inmate and their classification within the Upstate Correctional Facility. Make sure you contact the inmate and the jail ahead of time to find out when you can visit your specific inmate. Plan to dress conservatively, and do not bring anything with you to the jail, or you will be turned away without visiting.
