The following is a list of all rules and regulations that are to be observed by all inmates within the Chautauqua County Jail. These rules, which explain what is expected of you, are intended to insure safe custody, decent living conditions, and fair treatment during your incarceration.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

You can send mail to inmates at the Chautauqua County Jail. Make sure it is a standard size post-card (Max: 6” X 4 ¼”; Min 5” X 3 ½”). Do not send anything with a stamp, you must use metered-postage postcards. Postcards must be the standard white postcards available at any United States Post Office. Do not send pictures or letters.

Sending Money

You can provide money to an inmate. By depositing it at the kiosk in the lobby of the Chautauqua County Jail or at the Chautauqua County Courthouse kiosk. Do not send cash in the mail. You can send a money order in the mail, and you can also deposit money online to an inmate’s account by clicking here. Sending money online is probably the quickest and easiest way to get money to an inmate.

Phone calls

Inmates at the Chautauqua County Jail have access to a permanent telephone installation in each day room near the cell they are staying in. Phone calls can be made only with pre-paid call accounts between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily. The receiver of the phone call needs to 716-753-4935 to set up the pre-paid phone account.

Visitation

You can visit an inmate at the Chautauqua County Jail over the internet or in person. Visiting hours online are:

Monday-Friday; 1:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday; 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. & 4:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m

You need to schedule between 1 and 5 days prior to your visit. The visit will cost $10, and you can visit for up to 20 minutes. The visitor pays for the visit.

You can visit in person during these timeframes:

Saturday; 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
(Must be signed in by 1:30 p.m.)

Sunday; 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Must be signed in by 1:30 p.m.)

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
(Must be signed in by 7:30 p.m.)

Every inmate at the Chautauqua County Jail can have one 20 minute non-contact visit per week that does not cost anybody any money. Two people can visit at the same time. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Dress conservatively and do not bring any contraband or illicit material to the visit, either online or in person.
