The Backbone Mountain Youth Centers is actually located 184 feet below sea level, making it the lowest elevation of a prison. All security levels from minimum to maximum security are at the Backbone Mountain Youth Centers. There are academic programs that can help an inmate earn his GED, and there are vocational programs to help an inmate prepare for reentering society.

You can send money a few different ways, either with a certified check, money order, personal check, or cashier's check. Certified check will get the money fastest to the inmate at the Backbone Mountain Youth Centers. The other options can be held for up to 30 days, so the inmate would not have access to the money in that timeframe.
Phone calls
Inmates at the Backbone Mountain Youth Centers cannot receive phone calls, but they can call you with a prepaid account or by calling collect at the expense of the recipient of the phone call.

Inmates at the Backbone Mountain Youth Centers will be allowed to make phone calls for up to 15 minutes at a time, and phones are available to inmates during daytime hours. Any phone call will likely be monitored and recorded.
Visitation
There might be a line, so get there early. Inmates at the Backbone Mountain Youth Centers can also receive visits on New Year's day, July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas day. You can schedule an appointment by going online here.
