Sending Money

Inmates who are currently imprisoned at the Bloomington Jail have access to commissary accounts. You can add money to an inmate’s account via money order, check or cash. You also have the option of depositing money directly into the inmate's account in person at the administrative office in the Bloomington Jail.

Make sure that when you send money via money order or check, include the inmate ID number and full name on the back of the slip.

Commissary accounts can be used to purchase various supplies, and inmates need money deposited in order to use the accounts.

Phone calls

While inmates cannot receive phone calls, they can make phone calls. Recipients must be on an approved list, and inmates can make phone calls between 7:00AM and 7:30PM. Inmates will make phone calls collect and the calls will be paid for by the receiver of the phone call. Phone calls can last up to 30 minutes, but during peak periods calls might be restricted to 10 minutes in duration. You can ask at the Bloomington Jail to be added to the list of people an inmate can call, and they will work the pre-approval process.

Visitation

Typically, visitation can be any day between 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Two people can visit at one time for up to 15 minutes. Dress conservatively and bring government issued identification with you. Do not bring anything into the Bloomington Jail with you, as not only will it be rejected, but you could be asked to leave before your visit takes place.
