When a person is arrested, they are initially transferred to the Central Jail, which is located at the Boise County Jail at 3851 Highway 21

Money Orders should be filled out to "Boise County Jail Inmate Account" on the "Pay To" line. If not, it will be returned to sender. Do not include any personal notes or letters addressed to inmates with a money order. Notes and letters will not be delivered to the inmate.

Phone calls

Inmates at the Boise County Jail cannot receive phone calls. Once they are booked and arranged in their housing, they will be able to make outgoing calls collect, as long as the receiver of the phone call accepts the phone charges.

Visitation

The easiest way to visit is via a non-contact video visitation. These visits occur at the Boise County Jail Visitation Center located at 3851 Highway 21 PO Box 189, Idaho City, ID, 83631. You can visit daily between 7:45a.m. to 7:30 p.m, but only if you have an appointment.

Before you visit, you need to call 208-392-4411 between 8am-7pm to schedule a visit. Call one day before you are planning on visiting an inmate. If you have already visited, you can schedule your next visit online by clicking here. Schedule a visit up to 7 days in advance. You can schedule a visit at a computer in the lobby, if you do not have access at home to a computer.
