Hernando County Jail is a 88 bed jail that can operate with up to 88 beds occupied at any time. If a person is arrested on a misdemeanor, he might be discharged without spending time in jail. Anyone arrested with a felony charge cannot be bonded out.

Sending Money
The only way to send money to an inmate at the Hernando County Jail is to set up an account online. You can do this through Securus, by clicking here. Inmates can use money to fund their commissary accounts and to make outgoing phone calls. They need money on their accounts to use these services.
Phone calls
Inmates cannot receive phone calls, but they are permitted to make telephone calls from their housing areas. The Hernando County Jail staff cannot receive messages for inmates, so the only way to communicate is to set up an account for an inmate to call you. You can set this up online through Securus. You will need the inmate’s name and inmate number to set up an account.
Visitation
The Hernando County Jail offers video visitation for family and friends of inmates. This will help you visit without having to commute to the Hernando County Jail. Online visitation is possible with just an internet connection. You can set this up through Securus just like you would set up a phone call.
You can set up an on-site visit as well. This will occur in a building that has video monitors. You can visit Monday through Friday from 12:00 pm – 3:30 pm, but you do need to schedule a visit at least 1 day in advance, but not more than 14 days in advance.
All visits can last up to 20 minutes in duration. Plan to dress conservatively, and make sure you do not bring contraband or have anything that could be considered provocative on your person.
