Sending Money
Since inmates rely so much on money you send, it’s best to send it as efficiently as possible. This would mean sending it by Moneygram or through Western Union. Sending money to inmates is important to their well-being, since their commissary accounts can be used to purchase necessities or make phone calls.
If time is not of concern, you can send a money order in the mail, but it will not reach the inmate as quickly as the other options.
Inmates use the money either to purchase items at the MDC Guaynabo commissary or to make phone calls.
Phone calls
Since an inmate at the MDC Guaynabo cannot receive calls, the only thing you can do to help facilitate a phone call is to make sure there is money in an inmate’s account. Without money in his commissary account, an inmate cannot call you.
Visitation
After you used the inmate search tool to locate an inmate, you should submit a visitation request. Before visiting, you will need to go through a background check.
