Phone calls
Inmates cannot receive phone calls, but they are permitted to make telephone calls from their housing areas. The Santa Cruz County Jail staff cannot receive messages for inmates, so the only way to communicate is to set up an account for an inmate to call you. You can set this up online through Securus. Visitation
The Santa Cruz County Jail offers video visitation for family and friends of inmates. This will help you visit without having to commute to the Santa Cruz County Jail. Online visitation is possible with just an internet connection. You can set this up through Securus just like you would set up a phone call.
You can set up an on-site visit as well. This will occur in a building that has video monitors. You can visit Monday through Friday from 12:00 pm – 3:30 pm, but you do need to schedule a visit at least 1 day in advance, but not more than 14 days in advance.
All visits can last up to 20 minutes in duration. Plan to dress conservatively, and make sure you do not bring contraband or have anything that could be considered provocative on your person.
